      OREGON COAST ADVENTURE (GA & SSSC)

      This trip focuses on HISTORY: Natural and Man. The attractions visited highlight the Columbia  River’s flow into the Pacific, American Indians and the coming of Europeans & Americans to  the Oregon coast. More information is available at South Salem Senior Center.

JULY 4, 2010

      COLUMBIA GORGE FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION (SSSC)

      Please join us for an adventure up the Columbia Gorge. Our destination is the Columbia Gorge  Sternwheeler for an evening cruise on the Columbia River to view the beautiful fireworks  display from her decks. We will be journeying along the Columbia Gorge Scenic Bi-way;  Dinner will be at beautiful Multnomah Falls Lodge. We will be traveling on one of OC&W‘s  efficiently cooled motor coach.

      Cost: $110       Includes Transportation, Dinner & gratuity, and Cruise.

SEPTEMBER 18, 2010 (Saturday)

      Salmon Bake at Depoe Bay, OR

      We are going to Depoe Bay for the 54th Annual Salmon Bake. The event, held in the city park,

      Is a celebration of Native American history along the Central Oregon Coast. Dinner includes

      Salmon cooked over an open fire Indian style, Cole slaw, Garlic bread and a Beverage.  Desserts and wine will be available for purchase. There will be live Native American  entertainment in the park and a free shuttle to take you to and from the shopping district.

      Cost $45.   Includes: Transportation, Salmon dinner, and Entertainment.

Once again the travel office has been ask to try to get a group of fishermen together for a day of deep sea fishing.  If this sounds like something you would enjoy please add your name to the list found on the Travel Table in the center library. We will need 25 persons to make it affordable.

If you are not a fisherman, but would like to go with us, please come along and enjoy the beauty, comradely and excitement of being on the water. The last time I went out we saw two enormous whales up close and personal.
